Selected Academic Work & Lesson Plan
Univeristy of Calgary Education Program Projects
I have decided to include three papers and one lesson plan that I feel highlight some of my best writing and creative academic work thus far in my educational journey. The papers and projects found below were all completed to fulfil part of the requirements of my education program at the University of Calgary.
First Academic Paper
I completed the paper below for the course Education 455: Professional Development and Lifelong Learning. It is a reflection essay that illuminates who I am as an adult learner within my own learning journey as a lifelong learner and educator. It also examines some influential and foundational personal, academic and professional experiences along the way.
Second Academic Paper
The paper found below demonstrates the highlights and insights I gained while working within my professional Community of Practice group, as part of my Education 455 course. This essay contains a selection of connected understandings that were complied collaboratively within my group of pre-service teacher colleagues.
Third Academic Paper
This final paper is one I completed in my first semester for my Educational Psychology course. Having completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology, I have both tremendous appreciation and respect for the huge role social science in general, but specifically Psychology, plays both inside and outside the classroom setting. For this paper, I incorporated experiences with classroom assessment from my field experiences and related them to back to Lev Vygotsky's theory around the Zone of Proximal Development.
Early Childhood Education Lesson Plan
This document is my first ever lesson plan. It examines concepts found within the early English Language Arts Curriculum for grade 1, specifically early sound/symbol association and the vowels of A and E.
